Weed Control
Our program starts with an examination of your lawn and landscape to determine what it needs. Then we tailor a program to get your lawn up to speed. By studying soil science and conducting lawn trials we have discovered that grass thrives on specific nutrients and weeds thrive on other nutrients. Our fertilizer has been formulated to specifically feed the grass and starve the weeds. We also seed every year with a vigorous, professional football turf grass seed not found in local garden centers to out compete and choke the weeds and fill in any bare spots. Organic Turf produces lawns that are 90% weed free or better. Our formula gets rid of dandelions, crabgrass and most all broadleaf weeds.
What you can expect the first year is a thick, green lawn with about the same amount of weeds as the year before, but the lawn will appear to have less weeds because the grass will be much thicker. The second year the grass is thick and green with a large reduction in weeds. The third year the lawn is thick and green with good weed control. Grass likes certain nutrients and weeds like different nutrients, so our fertilizer and lime are formulated to specifically feed the grass and starve the weeds. The fertilizer and lime starve out dandelions, crabgrass and most broadleaf weeds. Most of our lawns are free from dandelions, crabgrass and large broadleaf weeds. Having your landscaper leave the clippings on the lawn also helps tremendously in controlling weeds. |

Pest Control
Our
organic pest control program uses garlic spray to repel deer ticks
from lawns and landscapes. In addition to rid your lawn and landscape of
ticks we use beneficial nemotodes which kill tick larva [not the other
stages] which help break the ticks life cycle. The garlic spray is also
placed around the foundation to repel a broad range of insects such as
ants, termites, centipedes, carpenter ants etc., from entering a house
and to chase them out if already established. We use Milky Spore to
eliminate lawn eating grubs, one application will last 10 years. For
bees, Japanese beetles, camel and cave crickets we use the organic form
of pyrethrum. Not all pyrethrums are allowed for organic insect
control.
